Maplewood Police Arrest Irvington Teen in Daytime Burglary

The Maplewood Police Detective Bureau arrested a 17-year-old juvenile from Irvington last Tuesday in a September 25 theft from a home on Irvington Avenue, in which sneakers and other items were taken, said Sgt. Christopher Black.

September 30, 2014; Burglary Attempt; at approximately 10 AM an unknown subject was observed by a resident of Norfolk Ave, attempting to gain entry to a rear window of their home. The subject fled the area. An extensive search was performed, bu the subject was not able to be located. No entry was made.

October 1, 2014; Burglary; A residence on Hughes St was entered during the overnight hours and a laptop and purse were stolen from the first floor.

October 4, 2014; Bicycle Theft; Between 1 and 4 PM a bicycle was stolen from an unlocked garage on Oakland Rd.

October 4, 2014: DUI Arrest; At approximately 02:20 AM officer’s responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on Tuscan Rd. Upon their arrival, officers found that a vehicle operated by 27 year old, Olanike Olagnju of Irvington, had struck a parked vehicle. The investigation on scene led to her arrest for driving while under the influence and for possession of suspected marijuana.

October 5, 2014; Bicycle Theft; Sometime within the last day, a bicycle was stolen from an unlocked garage on Burnett Terr.
