More than 250 Columbia High School students attended a presentation by The Museum of Interesting Things in the school library on March 30, in honor of Women’s History Month.

The Museum presented artifacts from suffragettes — those who fought for women’s right to vote a century ago — including pins, dresses, posters, hats, etc. A silent film with original footage of the suffragettes was screened.

The presentation was particularly meaningful to many students, as the suffragettes were active during the same time period that is the setting for the musical “Ragtime,” which the school produced to great acclaim.
