The SOMSD Parenting Center and Elementary School PTAs are presenting “Protecting Our Children Online: Internet Safety, Cyber-Bullying and Texting” on Thursday, December 4 at 7:30 p.m. at Tuscan Elementary School in Maplewood.

FBI Special Agent Joshua Wilson, an expert in internet safety and child exploitation, will help parents better understand the online lives of children.

Wilson will provide parents with effective strategies to deal with the dangers of inappropriate texting, instagrams and other social media. Attendees will learn how to talk to and protect their children from the unseen threats of the digital world.

Kelly Frischmann of the Tuscan PTA writes, “We hope to have a good turn out for this event given that this is an extremely important topic for families to better understand and deal with.”

Free babysitting/childcare is available for parents who wish to attend this event.

It’s best to reserve a spot by emailing The Parenting Center at: kweiland@somsd.k12.nj.us
