South Mountain YMCA’s popular babysitting course is back!

The six-hour course will be offered on Sunday, Feb. 5 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.), and will give 11-15 year olds the knowledge, skills and confidence to care for infants and school-age children. Training consists of videos, activities, and hands-on skill training and discussions.

This course teaches fledgling babysitters how to respond to emergencies, illnesses, first aid, rescue breathing, appropriate care of children, decision-making skills, and child development.

Each individual will receive an American Red Cross Certification Card upon completion.

Materials, lunch and snacks will be provided.

The South Mountain YMCA offers babysitting events for their members once a month on Saturday evenings. All certified babysitters are encouraged to volunteer to gain babysitting experience for their resume.

There is always a need for volunteers and future YMCA staff. This course will help prepare you for both. Early registration is strongly advised.
