Big 6th Inning Propels Over Mark Murphy’s Music for M60 Championship

The MSO baseball team (players aged 10 and 11) won the South Orange Maplewood Recreational Majors M60 Baseball League championship on Friday, June 7, 2019.

Village Green was the #2 ranked team, with a record of 9-2, but bested #1-ranked Mark Murphy’s Music (10-0)  at Meadowlands Field #4 by a score of 11-3, propelled by a big sixth inning, according to head coach Robert McDonald:

“The Majors M60 championship game was a very competitive game up until the sixth inning. opened up scoring in the top of the first inning taking a 1-0 lead before Mark Murphy’s Music tied up the game in the bottom of the first inning. then took at 3-1 lead in the third inning before Mark Murphy’s Music narrowed the lead to 3-2 in the fourth inning, until erupted for eight runs in the sixth inning on its way to an 11-3 victory over the undefeated Mark Murphy’s Music to claim the Major M60 championship.” Roster:
