Correction: the meeting begins at 8:30 p.m. because of National Night Out.

The Maplewood Township Committee will hold an Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) hearing at its meeting on Tuesday at 7:30 8:30 p.m. at the Maplewood Police and Courts Building at 1618 Springfield Avenue.

The ABC board hearing will include a place-to-place transfer of a license to Wine Barrel Maplewood LLC, 1886 Springfield Avenue, (Mr. Atul Gupta), and a person-to-person transfer of Nilsatis t/a Highland Place to 5 Highland Place Associates, LLC (Masoud Kian).

Kian is the landlord who owns the building that formerly housed Highland Place restaurant and bar, which has been closed since last summer. He applied for the person-to-person transfer in February 2015.

The New Jersey State Division of Taxation had seized the license from Chris Farrow, former owner of Highland Place, because of unpaid state taxes. The state scheduled an auction in December; bidding was to begin at $300,000. However, the auction was canceled at the last minute at Farrow’s request.

Also on the agenda: a Board of Health meeting, and a vote on final approval of an ordinance to designate 44th Street as a one-way street with traffic flowing from East to West.
