Maplewood Township Committee, acting as the local Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) board, will hold a hearing on Tuesday, January 19 on an application for a place-to-place liquor license transfer on Springfield Avenue.

The license is a pocket license currently owned by Pradip Patel, PRADESH, LLC, which previously used it at the former A&P on Valley Street. Patel seeks to use the license at 1713 Springfield Avenue, which until recently housed the Home Decor furniture store that opened in 2013.

If the application is approved by the township, the establishment will become a large (5,000 square foot) liquor store, said Township Clerk Elizabeth Fritzen. The store is across the street from Kasper’s Liquors. Wine Barrel recently opened down the street.

The entire agenda for the TC meeting can be seen here.
