Former A&P and Dollar Store is bulldozed to make way for a CVS

The building that housed an A&P supermarket, and then a Dollar Store, on Valley Street across from Columbia High School is being demolished to make way for a CVS.

The CVS, which was approved by the Maplewood Planning Board in January, is expected to take about a year to complete, according to Mayor Vic DeLuca.

Demolition was delayed at the request of the South Orange – Maplewood School District, which asked the developer to hold off until the school year ended.
