Election Government Maplewood Towns

Maplewood TC Candidates Forums Scheduled for May 16 & 21

Those wishing to get a closer look at the three candidates vying for two spots in the Democratic primary for Maplewood Township Committee will have two opportunities this May.

Maplewood Senior Share will be hosting a candidates forum at Le Saison, 304 Elmwood Avenue, on Saturday, May 16, at 9:30 a.m. The three Democratic candidates — Nancy Adams, Greg Lembrich and Jerry Ryan — have all committed to attending. Republican candidate Phyllis Scalera, who is running unopposed, has declined the invitation, according to organizers.

The forum will include a short period to socialize with the candidates one on one, followed by a Q&A period where the candidates will answer prepared questions, followed by questions from the audience.

Those wishing to attend should RSVP to [email protected]. Questions for the candidates can also be sent to this email.

On Thursday, May 21, at 7:30 p.m., the Hilton Neighborhood Association will sponsor a Candidates Forum for the three candidates running for the two openings on the Democratic ticket at DeHart Community Center, 120 Burnett Ave. The meeting is free and open to the public.

The candidates will respond to questions they receive prior to the meeting, followed by a question and answer session.

Village Green will be working with SOMAtv to record the May 21 forum on video.

The primary election will take place on June 2. The general election will take place November 3.
