Maplewood Township Committee Race Heats Up in October

All the coverage of Board of Education candidates and forums may have obscured the fact that, at least for Maplewoodians, there is another race to watch.

Two of the five seats on the Maplewood Township Committee are up for election on November 4. Terms are three years.

Incumbents Mayor Vic DeLuca and India Larrier are running, challenged by Independent Kurt Kiley and Republican Angel “Bob” Perez. Read the candidates’ statements here.

The Hilton Neighborhood Association will host a Maplewood Township Committee Candidates Forum on Thursday, October 16, at 7:30 p.m. at the DeHart Community Center.

The League of Women Voters will hold its Maplewood Township Committee Candidates Forum from 7:30-9:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 23. Venue to be announced.
