South Orange Village has officially launched SOConnect, an online service request tool and 311 tool for residents.

The service is both a website and a smartphone app.

Residents can download the app to their smartphones by going to the Apple app store or the Google Play store and searching “SOConnect.”

To find and use the service via laptop or tablet, visit www.publicstuff.com and search “South Orange.”

The SOConnect app and online service are free.

With SOConnect, residents can access information about the town and government, make service requests, track service requests, and instantly report non-emergency matters via email or smartphone.

At the Board of Trustees meeting on July 14, Village President Alex Torpey urged residents to download the app.

“If you have not downloaded the app and you are watching, please do so,” said Torpey. “It’s the quickest way to get your issue put in the work queue for our departments and our staff.”
