The ducks are running amok!
And you can get in on the action.
One of Maplewood’s favorite annual rites returns this Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, as the Kiwanis Rubber Duck Race hits the Rahway River immediately following the Maplewood Memorial Day Parade — at approximately 11:00 a.m.
This year, the South Mountain YMCA is proud to be a co-sponsor of the Rubber Duck Race with the South Orange/ Maplewood Kiwanis Club. Each year, proceeds from this race is given to charities that support children in our community.
For just $5 each, you can sponsor your own rubber duck(s) and win great prizes such as a Galaxy Tablet, a BOSE Speaker, 32″ TV and a variety of gift certificates from local businesses!
Duck Tickets can be purchase at the Y Welcome Center, the front desk of the Y’s Early Childhood Learning Center, at Mayfest on May 24 on Springfield Avenue, and at Maplewood Stationers. Also, look for a ticket table in front of the Maplewood Theater.
Tickets will be available at the event, but so often sell out, so get your tickets early.
The race takes place in Maplewood’s Memorial Park, between Oakview and Baker street.
