Last week, Maplewood resident and recording artist Alex Kariotis began releasing his new four-song Christmas EP — one song at a time.

Although Kariotis is better known for his operatic performances as a lyric tenor (he’s played Avery Fisher Hall) and stage performances with the Rock Opera Orchestra, he’s done a lovely job with American holiday standards such as “The Christmas Song” and “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.”

Today’s song is “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” — first sung by Judy Garland in the 1944 classic musical movie Meet Me in St. Louis.

Kariotis said that the four-song EP has been fashioned as “a thank-you to our fans and to put us all in the holiday spirit.”

Kariotis is accompanied by John Conte on piano, Kevin Brown on bass, and Alan Michaels on drums. The song is mixed by Roy Hendrickson.
