PSE&G workers are on site on Franklin Terrace in Maplewood working to remove a large tree that fell this morning and restore power to neighbors as well as the traffic light at the intersection of Parker Avenue and Irvington Avenue.
Workers noted that the quick recent thawing and the wetness of the ground most probably contributed to the tree falling.
No one was injured but one car was destroyed, the sidewalk where the tree stood has been damaged, and one house received minor damage.
Franklin Terrace remains closed between Clinton Avenue and Woodside Road.
