From the West Essex YMCA:

Joining the YMCA can help you achieve and maintain your New Year’s wellness resolution. On Saturday, Jan. 9, the West Essex YMCA will open its doors to all who are curious about the benefits of individual and family Y memberships.

Stop by the West Essex YMCA between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to take part in various activities for people of all ages. Try a Let’s Dance class and check out TRX suspension training demonstrations. Livingston Mayor Al Anthony will be on hand for the fun, and a ShopRite dietician will explain how to read nutrition labels.

As a community center, the Y fosters healthy lifestyles by making exercising fun and offering guidance for eating nutritiously. “We’re a community that supports individuals and families in reaching their goals,’’ West Essex YMCA Executive Director Helen Flores said. The Y believes everyone deserves access to resources that help them achieve wellness and provides financial assistance to those who qualify.

To find out more about the open house or Y memberships, visit westessexymca.org, stop by the facility at 321 South Livingston Ave. in Livingston or call (973) 992-7500.
