Next Maplewood, South Orange Electronics Recycling Day is May 14

Note: Essex County is also hosting a Computer and Electronics Recycling Day, free to all county residents, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 21 at 125 Fairview Avenue (next to the Old Hospital Center) in Cedar Ridge, NJ.

Residents of South Orange and Maplewood can drop off electronic items for recycling from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 14 in Maplewood.

Proof of residency is required to participate.

Computer monitors, CPUs, keyboards, printers, mainframes, fax machines, scanners, telecommunication equipment, speakers, televisions, VCRs, stereos, DVD players, toasters, irons and old cell phones are eligible for drop-off. Commercial and large-quantity electronics users may not drop off equipment.

There are four more E-Waste Events for 2016 between South Orange and Maplewood. These events are held on Saturdays between the hours of 8 a.m. and 12 p.m.

  • South Orange- June 11
  • Maplewood- July 9
  • South Orange- September 10
  • Maplewood- October 8
  • South Orange- December 17

The South Orange drop-off location is the South Orange Recycling Depot, 300 Walton Ave., South Orange, (973) 378-7741. The Maplewood drop-off location is the Maplewood Public Works Department/Recycling Center at 359 Boyden Ave. in Maplewood, (973) 762-1175. Note that South Orange drop-off is NOT available May 14. Dates for South Orange drop-off are June 11, September 10 and December 17.
