Abril Cocina in Maplewood won two prizes in the 1st NJ Taco Festival held at the Sussex County Fairgrounds on Saturday.
“There were over 40 vendors and our Gobernador taco [smoked wild shrimp] won the 3rd place in the best seafood taco and our Brisket taco won the 2nd place in the best beef taco,” said owner and chef Mario Valadez Trevino. “We are really proud especially because this is our first competition and also because we were able to sell over 700 hundred tacos in about four hours!”
