Free Diabetes Self-Management Workshops in Irvington

Are you a person with Medicare living with diabetes or know someone who is? Irvington Public Library has partnered with Quality Insights Quality Innovation Network and will be offering free six-week diabetes self-management workshops as part of the Everyone with Diabetes Counts (EDC) program.

The free evidence-based workshops developed at Stanford University cover a variety of topics including preventing complications, problem solving, the importance of healthy eating and portion control, exercise, medication management, communicating with healthcare providers, dealing with stress and depression, and much more.

The workshops will be taking place at the Irvington Public Library on 5 Civic Square in Irvington, NJ 07111. Workshops are on Wednesdays from June 7 to July 12, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. All attendees must register by the second workshop session. Each participant (one per household) will receive a complimentary textbook, Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions, 4th edition ($20 value).
