A Hartford Court resident was walking home on Hartford Road from Mountain train station Friday, Oct. 10 at shortly after 11 p.m. when he was robbed by four youths, said South Orange Police Chief James Chelel.

The four took the man’s backpack, which contained a Galaxy cell phone, a Galaxy tablet, two cameras, cash and several personal items, said Chelel. The man described the four as thin, black men ranging from 16 to 18 years old, varying in height from 5’6″ to 6’0″ and all wearing jeans, Chelel said. One of the men, who the victim said was wearing a blue, long sleeve shirt, showed what appeared to be a handle of a handgun.

Chelel said the police are actively investigating several leads.
