South Orange Police Arrest Man Suspected in Two Burglaries

South Orange Police arrested a 47-year-old Newark man in connection with two daytime burglaries last month on Mountain Drive and West End Road.

Police arrested Oscar Robinson on Tuesday shortly before noon, when detectives found the car Robinson was driving at the time of the burglaries parked on Prince Street in Newark. They arrested him when he returned to the car.

The investigation is continuing at this time.

Warrant arrests
Tajah Morris, a 19 year old Newark resident along with Denzele Williams, a 20 year old Medford NJ resident were arrested on 9-2-14 at approximately 6:00pm after officers conducting a field inquiry in the area of recent bicycle thefts on Sloan St. discovered that both subjects had outstanding warrants issued for their arrests. The subjects were taken into custody at the scene and processed accordingly.

Theft/arrest
Nehemiah Henderson, a 28 year old South Orange resident was arrested on 9-2-14 at approximately 12:15am after he fled from a restaurant on South Orange Ave. without paying for his food and drink purchases. Officers responding to the scene located the subject a short distant away where he was positively identified by the restaurant owner as the actor that committed the theft. The subject was transported to police headquarters without further incident and processed accordingly.

9/1/2014
Burglary to apartment
An Irvington Ave. resident stated that sometime during the afternoon or evening hours of 8-27-14 an unknown actor(s) had entered his apartment and removed a camera and computer equipment. The victim believes the actor may have entered his apartment through the first floor window. The Detective Bureau is investigating the incident.

Theft of cell phone
A Fairview Ave. resident stated that on 8-29-14 at approximately 7:50pm he was walking on Fairview Ave. when two juveniles described as black males approximately 16 years of age asked to use his cell phone to call their home. When the victim handed one of the juveniles his I-phone to use both actors then fled the scene with the phone in hand. Officers responded to the scene and canvassed the surrounding streets with negative results.
