The show runs Saturday, August 16 at 2 and 7 p.m. and on Sunday, August 17 at 2 p.m. at Morrow Memorial Methodist Church, 600 Ridgewood Road, Maplewood. A $10 donation is suggested for admittance.

“This is a show that’s great fun for the whole family and that your attendance will help in the greater effort to alleviate hunger in our towns,” wrote Gina Provenzano and Alisa Jones, parents of camper Skyler Jones, in an email.

The play involves 70 local children who participated in the camp from August 11 – 15 working from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day to put on a show in just one week. Nevertheless, director Shona Roebuck says the three performances will be very “professional.”

While preparing for the show, campers had the opportunity take classes in acting, dancing, set production, make-up and voice.

Importantly, they also learned about and will raise money for Local Hunger Alleviation — which will receive all donated admission fees from the performances.

See Director Shona Roebuck’s video interview with Maplewoodian’s Joe Strupp here.

Tickets are available  at Words Bookstore in Maplewood Village.
