The South Orange – Maplewood Board of Education has a very full agenda for its monthly meeting on Monday. The meeting will be held at the administration building at 525 Academy Street, Maplewood, at 7:30 p.m.

See the entire agenda here.

Among other things, the BOE will consider a resolution to revise the district’s academic placement policy, in light of the newly adopted Access & Equity policy.

The policy (#2314 – Academic Placement revision), states that while academic placement recommendations “should be given serious consideration by students and their parents or guardians,” they are “non-binding” and “all students shall have access to, and the ability to choose between different educational programs in all academic subjects, and at all academic levels.”

The board will also consider a resolution supporting a redistribution of state aid.

In addition, the board will discuss a Baseline Budget Report and will give updates on the recent Education Summit and the Let’s Talk program.
