The following is from Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel
The ballroom at Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel (TSTI) in South Orange was transformed into an indoor drive-in movie theater on a recent afternoon. Children from the Reform synagogue’s Iris Family Center for Early Childhood Education decorated cartons that became their own “cars”; they then climbed in to enjoy a screening of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cartoons while munching on healthy concession-style snacks. Building their cars with the goal of using them for a fun activity aligns with the preschool program’s focus on hands-on experiential learning. The drive-in movie program was developed last year by the school’s director, Carol Paster.
