After the teacher’s union and the District signed a memorandum of agreement on Thursday, BOE President Nubia DuVall Wilson said, “We look forward to finalizing the SOMEA contract this school year for our hard-working teachers.”

Superintendent Jason Bing tells teachers’ union: “You guys have a good group on your side. We have a good group on our side. Let’s get back to the table and work it out.”

Union members marched to the Board of Education meeting on Thursday to “voice their outrage.” Village Green will post more updates soon.

“While the union has taken this step, the district remains committed to working towards a fair and equitable contract and is still open to further negotiations,” said Supt. Jason Bing.
