Paving on Baker Street Affects Library Parking, But Not Hours

Last week, we told you about paving work on Baker Street and Dunnell Road. Although the paving will be done at night, and will not affect the hours of the Maplewood Memorial Library Main Branch (located at 51 Baker Street), there will be some street parking restrictions to be aware of.

According to an email from the library, parking along Baker Street will most likely be prohibited until September — however, the library parking lot is open and accessible. Patrons may park along Burnett Street until school is back in session, or at any of the municipal parking lots in the Village.

Don’t forget about the Hilton Branch (1688 Springfield Ave., Maplewood, 973-762-1688), which might be a good alternative for Main Branch patrons during the construction. Patrons can choose Hilton as the pickup location for BCCLS and Maplewood Library book requests, and can return materials in the book drop at either location, according to the email.

Book requests and some renewal requests can be made on the BCCLS webpage. For any questions or assistance, call the library at (973) 762-1622. Have your library card ready when you call.

The library apologizes for any inconvenience during the road work.
