Playa Bowls Brings a Healthy Taste of the Beach to Millburn

When founders Abby Taylor and Rob Giuliani opened their first Playa Bowls store in the New Jersey beach town of Belmar, they never thought they would start a thriving business with over 17 locations across the state in just three years. With its grand opening in June, Playa Bowls Millburn was fortunate enough to become the latest addition to this growing chain.

The beach themed store, full of surfboards, pineapples, and clay turtles offers brightly colored bowls full of bases like acai, pitaya (dragon fruit), and chia pudding topped with granola and unique fruit. They also have fresh smoothies and juices. Each bowl is as healthy as it is beautiful! Playa Bowls boasts a health conscious attitude with fresh ingredients. Their website states, “We believe that the Playa Bowls brand is a healthy movement that has helped changed lives and put smiles on people’s faces.”

The General Manager of the Millburn location, Kevin Schmidt, believes that Playa Bowls is a fantastic addition to the Millburn community. “I think that especially in this area, where people are so health conscious, so into the health trends nowadays, this is a great place for everyone to come. We’re already noticing that people from places like Flywheel and other local gyms are coming here after a class.”

Locals, and even not so local people, are excited about the new store. Gina Di Nucci had travelled 20 minutes from her town of Clark, NJ, just for a taste of Playa Bowl’s products. “I’m addicted to Playa Bowls, so I’ll go to any of the locations… It’s a great healthy snack.”
