SOMA ACTION will sponsor a voter registration drive on Saturday, April 8 rom 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. in front of Starbucks (11 Sloan Street) in South Orange Village Center.

The Voters Rights Committee of SOMA Action will be on hand this Saturday to register local residents in advance of the upcoming May 9 Board of Trustee election for South Orange Township.

The deadline to register for the May election is Tuesday, April 18, 2017.

Voter registration forms, information about early voting, and literature about the slate of candidates will on hand throughout the drive.

“The Voters Rights Committee of SOMA Action wants to make sure that every citizen is aware of his or her voting rights, is encouraged to vote in every election, and is able to participate without impediment,” said Alison Shames, Voters Rights Committee co-chair. “Lots of people in South Orange aren’t even aware that there’s a Board of Trustee election coming up. The Trustees of our village make decisions that impact our lives, each and every day. You can make your voice heard by voting in the election.”
