Maplewood Police: Armed Robbery at Irvington Avenue 7-11

A man wearing a mask and brandishing a handgun robbed the 7-Eleven on Irvington Avenue on Friday night, according to Sgt. Christopher Black of the Maplewood Police Department.

At around 2:25 a.m., the man entered the store, demanded money from the registers and then fled in a red Jeep toward Irvington, Black said. The car was later recovered in Newark. No injuries were reported in the robbery.

Two days later, on Sunday, two men shoplifted several items from the candy section of the same 7-Eleven, Black said. Officers searched the area but were not able to find the two.
