A note from South Orange Trustee Walter Clarke:

Holiday Water Conservation Toilet Bathroom

The ongoing drought warning continues for northern New Jersey, prompting the need for residents to conserve water. Although we have had some rain and snow, it is nowhere near the amount we need to get reservoirs back to normal. At this time of year people tend to use less water (no yard care) but they still need to be conscious of consumption.

One really common water waste culprit is that leaky toilet in the guest bathroom that will trickle away if you don’t jiggle the handle just right. To help residents identify this South Orange has a limited number of toilet leak detection tablets available at the South Orange Public Library.
Residents can visit https://njdrought.org and https://njdrought.org/status.html#central for more specific information on the drought and can help conserve water by reading the drought warning release and water conservation tips flier below.
