Artist Hair Bar (12 Main St. in Millburn) will hold a Blow-a-Thon benefit on September 10 for The Valerie Fund, in honor of Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, to support the fund’s efforts in helping children fight pediatric cancer.

Fifty percent of every blow out on Sept. 10 will be donated to The Valerie Fund. The Hair Bar also will be selling raffle tickets with prizes donated by local businesses; 100% of the proceeds of the ticket sales will go to the fund.

There will be canisters in the salon for customers to make a monetary donation to the Valerie Fund. Any person making a monetary donation of at least $10 will receive a Valerie Fund Bracelet or Valerie Fund Pin.

Owner Michael Dsurney said that 25 years ago, his wife Jessica Martins was diagnosed with pediatric cancer, and the doctors from The Valerie Fund helped save her life. The Valerie Fund is located in Maplewood.
