Since 1992, there has been a toy store at 178 Maplewood Avenue in Maplewood Village First, it was Scrivener’s, owned by Norm Scrivener for more than 22 years.
In 2015, Erin Lundstrom, a former employee and longtime resident, bought the business and rechristened the store Shenanigans.
Whatever its name, the store is known as THE place to buy toys and collectibles in Maplewood. Shenanigans is fully stocked for the holiday season. “Pokemon, Beanie Boos, Plush Craft, Science Kits, and Automoblox are all the hot things going right now,” said Lundstrom.
Here are the details from Lundstrom:
- Science kits are a great way to a spend a snowy afternoon, having fun and learning. They range from fun and foamy kits, to My First Chemistry and even kits to experiment on making sweet treats.
- Automoblox are a great car for any developing mind. Made mostly of wood, the car will stand the test of time. And with interconnecting pieces and shape sorting passengers, building and learning come with the fun.
- Pokemon and Beanie Boos have been our top sellers all year long, and have made it onto every child’s holiday wish list that I have seen so far this year!
For shoppers’ convenience, Shenanignas offers complimentary gift wrap, personal shopping and extended hours for the holiday season (the store is open until 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.)
“We are very much looking forward to celebrating the holidays with everyone and wishing all of our customers the best,” said Lundstrom.
