Parnassians Society

Those crazy Parnassians have done it!

The members of the Parnassian Society — Columbia High School’s drama club — have reached their fundraising goal of $96,500 and are headed for Scotland to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

The goal was attained by selling tickets to theater productions, organizing a rummage sale, hosting an evening with Hank Zona, hitting the streets for can drives and more.

“We depart this Saturday, July 30!” wrote Parnassians advisor and CHS English teacher Janet Bustrin.

“But, before we leave, we’re having a ‘farewell’ performance of The Ticket to thank the wonderful community who supported us.”

The show takes place Friday, July 29 at 7:30 p.m. in the Columbia High School Black Box Theatre.

“And thank you to the South Orange/Maplewood community for helping us make it happen,” said Bustrin.
