Footage from home security surveillance cameras led South Orange Police to arrest a Newark man they charged with multiple package thefts earlier this month.
On December 7 at around 3:55 p.m., detectives saw and stopped 27-year-old Justin Armstrong, whom they had identified as a alleged suspect from a package theft that had been reported earlier that day on So. Kingman Rd., according to the blotter. Footage from a home security camera had captured video footage of the theft.
Detectives allegedly found proceeds of the package thefts in Armstrong’s possession, as well as drug paraphernalia. Later in the day, a So. Stanley Rd resident reported a similar incident where home security surveillance camera captured the theft, and detectives confirmed that Armstrong was allegedly responsible for the incident.
