South Orange Woman Arrested After Hit-and-Run Injures Motorist

A South Orange driver was arrested on April 24 when she allegedly left the scene after striking another car on South Orange Avenue.

Police arrested Michelle West, 62 years old, at approximately 6:16pm after it was discovered that she had hit a car and injured the motorist, according to the police blotter. West was arrested at her residence, and was charged with assault and leaving the scene of an accident.

5/1/2015
Obstructing/arrest
Kervens Jeanpierre, a 26 year old Orange resident was arrested on 5-1-15 at approximately 2:00am when he was stopped for committing a motor vehicle violation on South Orange Ave. During the subsequent field inquiry the subject failed to identify himself and provided false information to the officer on the scene. The subject was arrested without incident, transported to police headquarters and processed accordingly.

Theft/arrest
A 17 year old juvenile from South Orange was arrested on 4-30-15 after an investigation by Detectives revealed that the juvenile had stolen a cell phone from an individual while he was playing basketball at the community center. The juvenile was placed under arrest transported to police headquarters and processed accordingly.

Burglary/ Seton Hall University
Sometime during the evening or overnight hours of 4-29-15 an unknown actor(s) had gained entry into offices located in the Seton Hall University’s recreation center and removed numerous articles of electronics. The Detective Bureau is investigating the incident.

4/29/2015
Attempted theft of vehicle
A South Orange resident stated that sometime between 7:25am and 10:30pm on 4-28-15 an unknown actor(s) had attempted to steal his vehicle (2001 Audi) which was parked in the SOPAC lot. The actor(s) had broken the driver’s side door lock to gain entry and once inside the vehicle the actor had attempted to remove the vehicle by damaging the ignition cylinder.

Criminal mischief
A Fielding Ct. resident stated that sometime between 6:00pm on 4-27-15 and 10:30am on 4-28-15 an unknown actor had damaged the driver’s side door and smashed a rear vent window to his vehicle (2004 Ford) which was parked in the victim’s driveway.

Criminal mischief
Several vehicles on Holland Rd. were damaged during the evening or overnight hours of 4-27-15. The actor(s) had damaged a door lock and or broken a vent window in an attempt to gain entry. In one incident an actor damaged a vehicle by writing in black ink on it’s hood and rear panel. The Detective Bureau is investigating the incidents. The vehicles involved were a 2002 Honda, a 2006 Nissan, a 2005 Chrysler, and 2007 Infiniti.

4/28/2015
Theft of drain pipe
A Hillside Ter. resident stated sometime between 8:00pm on 4-26-15 and noon the following day an unknown actor(s) had removed a copper drain pipe from the front of her residence.

4/27/2015
Theft from vehicle
A Holland Rd. resident stated that sometime during the overnight hours of 4-26-15 an unknown actor(s) had gained entry into his vehicle (2002 Jeep) and removed a cell phone and a Kenwood stereo. The actor(s) gained entry by breaking the driver’s side window. The vehicle was parked in the driveway at the time of the incident.

Theft of vehicle
A Hackettstown resident stated that he had parked his vehicle (2008 Pontiac) on So. Centre St. at approximately 4:00pm on 4-25-15 and when he returned to his vehicle on 4-26-15 at approximately 8:30am he discovered it had been stolen.

Theft from vehicle
A Milton Pl. resident stated that sometime during the overnight hours of 4-26-15 an unknown actor(s) had gained entry into her vehicle (2003 Toyota) and removed a small amount of coins. The actor(s) had broken the passenger’s side rear vent window to gain entry. The vehicle was parked in the driveway at the time of the incident.

Burglary to vehicle
A Mercer Pl. resident stated that sometime during the overnight hours of 4-25-15 an unknown actor(s) had gained entry into his vehicle (2008 Chr. Van) and ransacked the interior. No items were reported stolen. The actor(s) broke the driver’s side door lock to gain entry. The vehicle was parked in the driveway during the incident.

Theft from vehicle
A Kingman Rd. resident stated that sometime during the overnight hours of 4-25-15 an unknown actor(s) had entered his vehicle (2005 Dodge) which was parked in the driveway and removed a set of old house keys. The actor(s) had damaged the driver’s side door lock to gain entry.

4/22/2015

Theft
An East Orange resident stated that sometime between 7:30pm and 10:30pm on 4-21-15an unknown actor(s0 had removed a backpack that he had left at the side of the basketball courts at the community center. The victim stated that the backpack was blue in color and contained his I-phone

Theft from vehicle
A Twin Oak Rd. resident stated that sometime during the evening or overnight hours of 4-19-15 an unknown actor(s) had entered her unlocked vehicle(2013 Inf) which was parked in the driveway and ransacked the console and glove box removing approximately $5

Theft from vehicle

A Tillou Rd. resident stated that sometime during the evening or overnight hours of 4-19-15 an unknown actor(s) had entered two unlocked vehicles that were parked in the victim’s driveway and removed an I-phone and a costume jewelry necklace.

4/20/2015
Burglary to dwelling
A Woodland Pl. resident stated that sometime between noon and 5:30pm on 4-18-15 an unknown actor(s) had gained entry into her residence and removed her wallet from the kitchen table. The victim stated that she had left the doors to her residence unsecured while she left same. The Detective Bureau is investigating the incident.
