To the Editor:

I couldn’t be more excited to endorse my friends and fellow parents, Chris Sabin and Annemarie Maini, as they run for the Board of Ed. I will start with Mr. Sabin. I have known Chris for many years on both a personal and professional level. His bid continues a long tradition of supporting education in this town starting from his beautiful mother who championed our education when we were both in the district during the 80’s. Now, with his three amazing children in the district, I know that Chris is truly invested in ensuring that our district serves our children. Chris has a generous, humble and patient spirit that will be welcome on the board. I endorse him fully.

Now Annemarie! Annemarie and I both sent our children to the South Orange Country Day School for Pre-K through Kindergarten, and it was there that I learned of her passion for education. She gave more than just “lip-service” to the need for improving what was already a strong institution for early childhood education; she actually took it upon herself to take over the school! Since then she has made numerous improvements and my South Mountain 1st grader reaped the benefits. By attending a wonderfully nurturing Pre-K class which had him reading long before his kindergarten year. Annemarie embodies the type of passion and volunteerism that makes communities like ours flourish. Currently there are countless students who have graduated from her Montessori school in our district, and she too is clearly invested in making sure that all our children get the best.

South Orange / Maplewood, we couldn’t ask for two better candidates to join our Board!
