“To our dismay, Friends of Frank is now under attack for standing up for Frank”, read an email raising funds for the three defendants. Meanwhile, former BOE member Elissa Malespina said that “false statements made about me have caused significant damage to my reputation, my career, and my emotional well-being.”

The Freshman/Sophomore team is now 4th place and the Junior/Senior team is now in 6th place in the First Tech Challenge NJ NE Edge League.

A grand jury dismissed a felony charge against Frank Sanchez earlier this month; however, he still faces a simple assault charge. It’s unclear if the charge impacts his reinstatement in the district.

Sanchez will continue on administrative leave until June 30, after which he is no longer an employee of SOMSD. However, a district spokesperson declined to comment on whether or not there was a path for Sanchez’s reinstatement.

Student rep Asa Glassman said when asked what could be improved at CHS, Pedro noted “the importance of a culture of excellence that Columbia seems to be lacking” and that little things like holes in the walls, dilapidated ceilings and messy posters around the school “contribute to the slow erosion of a climate of success at a school like ours.”

Attorney says he has been conducting his own investigation into an incident between Frank Sanchez and a student and will be delivering the results to the prosecutor’s office shortly.

Former BOE member Elissa Malespina confirms she shared the draft report with police, which she says the law requires. That report included interviews with the student and student witnesses that claimed Sanchez allegedly grabbed and shook the girl’s shoulders and “push[ed] her so hard that her phone fell out of her pocket.”
