Asst. Supt. Ann Bodnar also said a Ninth Grade Academy would be created to focus on the transition to high school, particularly when a student has previously failed ELA or math classes in middle school. The academy would also offer a freshman seminar to students.

Work to be done include renovating the former pool into a student commons area, library and science lab renovations and roof and HVAC fixes. Postponed for now: guidance suite and classroom alterations and updating the girls locker room.

Joshua Enyeart said any student choosing to take journalism must also take an additional ELA course if they want to graduate in four years. “My frustration with this is that it will severely limit student interest and enrollment.”
