July 4th in South Orange: A Full Day of Family Fun!

Celebrate 4th of July in South Orange!

The Department of Recreation & Cultural Affairs has planned a day of family fun in and around Meadowland Park and the Community Pool.

The pool will be open to ALL SOUTH ORANGE RESIDENTS on July 4th, 10am to 8pm. Proof of residency (I.D. Badge, drivers’ license or utility bill) will be required at the gate. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The schedule of events during the day includes:

  • kids field events/races for kids ages 3-12
  • baking contest- cakes and pies
  • ping pong tournament for all ages
  • swim races for ages 6-13
  • corn hole tournament for all ages
  • hot dog eating contest for ages 10 and up
  • sand art
  • photo booth
  • water slide sponsored by SOPA
  • The South Orange Seaport Society will be sailing their model boats in the Duck Pond. Kids love the boats and the Seaport Society loves kids!
