To the Editor:
I am writing to support the candidacy of Annemarie Maini for South Orange Maplewood Board of Education. I met Ms. Maini four years ago when my child began attending the South Orange Country Day School, a pre-school under her leadership.
Ms. Maini will be an excellent addition to the Board of Education. She believes in every child’s right to a good education and tirelessly advocates for them. I was a new mother when my child started at SO Country Day School. She determinedly brought to my attention what my child needed from me despite my initial reluctance and denial. Due to her dedication, I eventually “got it” and got on the task of helping my child move in the right direction. Ms. Maini was open minded with my many suggestions and always worked with me to incorporate them into my child’s learning experience. She exhibited this open-mindedness and attention to my child’s needs no matter how challenging it was in the midst of many other requests from parents and needs of other children. She managed to improve the development of one child without compromising the needs of other children.
Ms. Maini’s years of leadership volunteering in our schools, including HSA co-president at South Orange Middle School, in addition to her previous corporate and teaching experience are further evidence of her qualifications for a seat on the Board of Ed.
She exemplifies the type of leader we need on the Board of Education. She’s experienced, innovative, smart, dedicated to education, understanding of parents and deeply caring of our community-at-large.
Everyone should consider supporting Annemarie Maini because she is absolutely qualified and shares our passion about our children’s education. I enthusiastically support Annemarie Maini and hope you will join me in voting for her.
