The South Orange Police Department issued an advisory Friday regarding counterfeit bills being used at local businesses:

Be advised that recently there have been some attempts by individuals to pass counterfeit bills ($20,$50,$100) in local establishments throughout the village. Merchants should take all possible measures to determine especially large bills that they are in fact authentic. Merchants and or residents should contact the police department as quickly as possible in order to aid the officers in conducting an on-scene investigation of the suspected fraudulent activity.
