Ready your dancing shoes for the 11th annual Maplewoodstock, coming to Maplewood’s Memorial Park on July 12 and 13.

Sponsored by Atlantic Health System and Guitar Center, the two-day music festival — one of the community’s biggest parties of the year — will feature lots of music, food and fun for the whole family.

The Sunday closing act this year is Puss ‘n Boots, comprised of sultry singer-songwriter Norah Jones along with Sasha Dobson and Catherine Popper. Robert Randolph and The Family Band will perform on Saturday, and Raul Midon will ring in Puss ’n Boots just before the end of Maplewoodstock on Sunday.DSC03028

Other acts include the Iguanas, Brother Joscephus and the Love Revolution. Many more bands are performing; for a complete list visit the Maplewoodstock website.

Maplewoodstock T-shirts for adults and kids can be purchased online. The shirts were designed this year by Michael Choi and Marc Miller.

Food will be provided by a multitude of local restaurants. For adults, the popular Beer Garden makes a return, offering beer and wine for purchase. The little ones can enjoy the Kid Zone, which has bouncy rides, face painting, arts and crafts, and ice cream.

Want to be a part of the action? Consider volunteering for the event. Volunteers are needed in the mornings from 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., mostly on Saturday and also Sunday. Help is also needed to sell merchandise on both days. Adults and teens are welcome; for more information contact Tom Kerns at kernst@comcast.net.

Maplewoodstock starts at noon both days and continues until about 9 p.m.
