Wellspring Health Collective is hosting “A Community Discussion on Raising Boys” on Thursday, March 12, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at its location on Valley Street. The discussion will be facilitated by Laura Booker, psychotherapist and gender and sexuality expert.
There is no registration required, and a $5 suggested donation is requested.
This event is the first in a series of discussions focused on how a community can collectively support boys and help them best develop their authentic and compassionate selves. The discussion will also cover the notion of today’s masculinity.
Topics to be discussed include:
- How do we foster empathy, connection and friendship with and among boys
- How do we raise boys to have a healthy relationship to partners and sexuality?
- How boys suffer from gender oppression and what we can do?
- How do we create a community of parents with similar values around sexuality and violence so that each family isn’t working alone.
