Listen to Your Mother 2016 Cast

Listen to Your Mother, a live performance celebrating motherhood, returns for its 4th annual North Jersey show at The Woodland in Maplewood on Saturday, May 13th at 2:00 PM & 5:00 PM.

Auditions are open to everyone! What makes this show so impactful is listening to stories about motherhood from many different perspectives. Men, women, young adults, parents, empty-nesters, and non-parents all have something to say about motherhood, and we want to hear it.

Please include FULL NAME, PHONE NUMBER, and DATE/TIME PREFERENCES (We will try our best to accommodate you.)

This is a spoken word event; so come prepared to read aloud your own, original 3 – 5 minute piece about motherhood. ALL STORIES celebrating motherhood in all its complexities are welcome. You do NOT have to memorize your piece. You do NOT need professional writing or stage experience.

Commitment includes two rehearsals in the spring, dates to be determined, and a pre-show run through.

Visit the Listen To Your Mother YouTube channel for some inspiration! And learn more about the show and organization at listentoyourmothershow.com

The mission of each LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER production is to take the audience on a well-crafted journey that celebrates and validates mothering through giving voice to motherhood–in all of its complexity, diversity, and humor–in the form of original readings performed live on-stage by their authors.

LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER aims to support motherhood creatively through artistic expression, and also financially — through contributions to non-profit organizations supporting families in need. Each LTYM show donates a minimum of 10% of ticket proceeds to a local cause, as well as providing the cause awareness/fund-raising opportunities.
