President of the National Urban League at Maplewood Library 3/25

As part of the Maplewood Ideas Festival, Marc H. Morial, President and CEO of the National Urban League and Maplewood resident, will present a talk entitled “20th Century Lessons for 21st Century America” at the Maplewood Library Main Branch on Wednesday, March 25 at 7 p.m.

The National Urban League is the the nation’s largest historic civil rights and urban advocacy organization. Morial has been a primary catalyst for an era of change, and his leadership has helped redefine civil rights, according to a press release from the library.

Morial was Mayor of New Orleans and led the city’s renaissance in the 1990s. He has been recognized as one of the 100 most influential Black Americans by Ebony Magazine and one of the Top 100 Black Lawyers in America.
