A Newark man was walking on Wilden Place near Seton Hall University at around 5 a.m. Monday when a man with a black handgun got out of a silver vehicle and robbed him of his cell phone, according to the South Orange Police Blotter.
The man said he was walking when a car pulled into a driveway and the front seat passenger got out and robbed him, said police. The car then backed out of the driveway and travelled east on Wilden Pl. into Newark. The victim’s cell phone was recovered after the suspect threw it out of the car window as he fled.
The Detective Bureau is investigating the incident.
