On Monday night, Nina Kambili was sworn in as a member of the South Orange-Maplewood Board of Education.
Kambili is a rising senior at Columbia High School and will serve as Student Representative, a non-voting member of the Board of Education.
Kambili chose to run for the elected position because, “I wanted to give back to this district. I wanted to represent my school.” She further credited her predecessor in the role, Maggie Kritzberg, now headed to George Washington University: “She was great, and helped me a lot through the process.”
Filip Saulean, Columbia High School Class of 2017, was sworn in Monday, July 20 as the alternate Student Representative to the Board of Education for 2015/16.
