Danielle Levine, 7th grade English Language Arts teacher at South Orange Middle School won free tickets for her entire WIN class to see “A Christmas Story: The Musical” at The Paper Mill Playhouse.

This comical and heartfelt production is based on a popular 1983 film and on the book, A Christmas Story: The Musical, by Joseph Robinette. The main character, Ralphie, is determined to receive an Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action 200-shot Range Model Air Rifle for Christmas and he will stop at nothing to ensure that it is under his tree.

Ms. Levine took the initiative to enter a social media contest on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. The contest required each participant to explain one thing he or she wanted for Christmas using the hashtag, #PMPAChristmasStory. Out of all of the responses received, Ms. Levine’s was one of the few chosen. She was pleasantly surprised when a camera crew and representative from the theater showed up to her classroom on November 12 to present her and her entire WIN period with this holiday gift.

Said Ms. Levine to The Village Green, “I never win anything, and never dreamed that I would win this contest! I was beyond ecstatic. I think I was more excited for the students. They were so happy. I could not have picked a nicer class to share the moment with me. WIN is a great group, and they work extra hard.”

Thank you, Ms. Levine for a job well done!
