There are still a few more days left to donate to Achieve’s Direct Grant Funding campaign. Achieve is accepting contributions for Teacher Grants approved in December that are awaiting additional funding through January 31.
The campaign has already raised more than $9,000, donated toward 29 Teacher Grants, including three which were funded in full, according to the Achieve website. Teachers at all nine schools are still hoping to receive funding for their spring projects.
Here are just a few examples of teacher grants that you can help fully fund:
- Allison Cahill: The 2nd Annual SOMS Wellness Extravaganza
- Katerina Karis: SOMS Model UN
- Mara Rubin: Cultural Workshops & Concerts
- Amanda Buckley: Innovation & Genius Hour Using Chromebooks at CHS
- Allan Tumolillo: Synthetic Biology Trial at CHS
- Todd Van Beveren: Chamber Music Series
For the 2015/16 school year, Achieve distributed its largest amount of funds to date for Teacher Grants: $70,155 to 68 teachers for creative projects in all nine district schools. The money will be used for innovative projects teachers have created to benefit their students at all nine schools in the current school year. This is the 15th year that Achieve has offered teachers this energizing opportunity to expand learning in ways they think will be most exciting and useful to their students.
