Filip Saulean, Columbia High School Class of 2017, was sworn in Monday, July 20 as the alternate Student Representative to the Board of Education for 2015/16. Saulean will serve as alternate for Nina Kambili, CHS Class of 2016, who will be sworn in at the August meeting.
Kambili and Saulean were elected to their positions during spring Columbia High School elections. The election for Student Representative was contested, with Kambili receiving the greater number of votes.
Saulean sought the elected position because he wanted “to help the school.” He hopes that his experience will “help address issues that go unresolved,” and to “speak with a strong voice.”
