CHS Robotics Fundraiser

The award-winning Columbia High School Robotics team and advisor Mr. Allen Tumolillo, will be out in force this weekend in Maplewood.

The CHS Robotics team — and their robots — will be in front of Bagel Chateau from 8 a.m.-12 p.m., on Saturday, September 5.

Team captain Ellie Cohen explains, “The money goes towards registering four teams (varsity, jv, freshmen and middle school) for our league, US First Organization (usfirst.org) and buying new equipment for the competition season.”

Cohen noted that last week’s can drive was  a success in terms of money and generating interest. “We are recruiting new members, but students do not have to be freshmen to join a robotics team for the first time. Give it a try.”

And, she says, save the date. “Sunday, November 15th is the qualifier that CHS hosts. It is called Robo CAT-astrophe and is one of the biggest qualifiers in NJ (36 teams, over 1,000 people).”  The event is free and open to the public.
